Trail Blazers 2026 All-Star

Developed weekly voting and retail promotion emails, contributed to creative brainstorming, and designed voting cards for an All-Star campaign webpage

Project Overview

All-Star is an exhibition event that is held midseason to feature the league’s top players, selected by fans, players, and media.

My role in this project involved creating multiple emails as part of an effort to encourage fans to vote for Deni Avdija for the All-Star game. These emails included voting reminders and retail promotions. Additionally, I collaborated on webpage ideation and assisted with the design of 3-for-1 voting cards for the All-Star landing page.

Emails

Five emails were created for this season’s All-Star campaign. The first four encouraged fans to vote for Deni Avdija, aligning with key moments in the voting timeline: the launch of voting, two 3-for-1 voting days where each vote counted triple, and a final reminder before voting closed. The fifth email shifted to a retail focus, promoting a limited-time offer where fans received a free patch with the purchase of a Deni jersey.

For the retail-focused send, jersey images were turned into clickable modules linking to specific styles, and a standalone image of the promotional patch was included for clarity. This email was sent exclusively to retail opt-in subscribers rather than the full fan email base to deliver more targeted retail messaging.

To maintain consistency with the campaign’s established look and feel, I incorporated All-Star visual elements such as the textured noise background and border treatments. I also repurposed promotional videos of Deni by converting them into GIFs, adding motion to the emails while highlighting featured content. Click on the cards to view each full email!

This season’s cards

For the landing page, we needed calendar cards to highlight the triple voting days. I aimed to stay consistent with the established look and feel by incorporating the campaign’s noise texture as the background. I also pulled star elements used across the campaign. The color palette follows the classic red and black theme to align with the Trail Blazers’ branding.

The two images above display the cards in use. The bottom image with the red card indicates that it’s a 3-for-1 voting day. On the final page, instead of a noise background, we went with a solid gray instead to signify past voting days.

Results

The 3-for-1 voting cards were placed above the Vote Now CTA, which analytics showed to be the most-clicked (#1 ranked) element on the page, aligning the content with a high-attention area.

Reflection

This project was a great learning experience, giving me the opportunity to contribute to a large campaign and see how design supports overall strategy. I learned how to create a cohesive series of emails promoting both voting and retail, as well as contribute to a portion of the landing page. I’m grateful to my team for their support and for allowing me to be part of the process!

Nice to know:

this season, fan votes increased by over 2100% for the Trail Blazers compared to the 2024-25 season

this was Deni Avdija’s first time being an All-Star!

Deni received over 2 million fan votes, surpassing established All-Stars like Lebron James and Kevin Durant

Let’s stay connected! :)
